Everything worth knowing before you add Rilo to Chrome. Still stuck? The contact form is right below.
Rilo is a Chrome extension that writes email replies for you, right inside Gmail. It reads the thread you're looking at, lets you pick how you want to respond, and drafts a reply in your voice — then drops it into Gmail's reply box so you never leave your inbox. There's nothing new to learn; it sits next to the Send button.
Add Rilo from the Chrome Web Store and open Gmail — that's the whole setup. A Rilo button appears next to Send whenever you're writing or replying; click it, choose a direction for the response, and generate a draft. It takes about a minute and there's no separate app to install.
Rilo is free to start — {{FREE_TIER_LIMIT}} AI-generated replies every month, no credit card required. Every writing tone is included on the free plan. Pro is {{PRO_PRICE}} and raises the limit to 400 replies a month, adds multiple draft options per email, priority generation, and priority support. You only add a card if and when you decide to upgrade.
To draft a reply, Rilo reads the thread you're responding to and sends it to Google's AI to generate the text. We don't sell your data, and your email content is not used to train models — {{TRAINING_USE}}. Thread content and drafts are {{DATA_RETENTION}}. Sign-in is Google OAuth, so Rilo never sees or stores your Google password.
You sign in once with Google — either on this website or in the extension — and the two stay in sync automatically. When you're signed in here, Rilo hands your session to the extension securely in the background, so you never have to log in twice. It uses Google OAuth and a signed token handoff; your password is never involved.
Rilo runs in Google Chrome on desktop, installed from the Chrome Web Store. Because it's a standard Chrome extension, it should also work in Chromium-based browsers like Edge, Brave, and Arc that can install Chrome Web Store extensions. There's no mobile version — Gmail's mobile apps don't support extensions.
No — Rilo needs an internet connection. Generating a draft sends the thread to Google's AI and waits for the reply back, so there's no offline mode. The rest of Gmail keeps working as normal; only the drafting step needs to be online.
Refresh the Gmail tab first. Gmail sometimes finishes loading before the extension attaches, and a refresh lets Rilo hook back in next to Send. If it's still missing, confirm the extension is enabled at chrome://extensions and that you're signed in — an expired session is the most common reason a draft won't generate, and signing back in from the Rilo popup clears it.
You can cancel Pro anytime — {{CANCEL_METHOD}} — and you'll keep Pro features until the end of the billing period, then move back to the free tier. To delete your account and the data tied to it, {{DELETION_METHOD}}. Uninstalling the extension stops Rilo from reading any email immediately.
